This is just timely since I am going to post photos of current happenings, while playing with minimal light. Don’t get me wrong when you see that my main subject is a Christmas Tree. This isn’t another late post about the holidays, though I have long intended to take some pictures of this vibrant 120 ft. tall Giant Christmas Tree in Fuente Osmeña. Honestly, I felt a little sad when Christmas was over and I wasn’t able to create the holiday post I planned since the photos I took before were not exactly what I wanted.
But moving forward..
Luckily tonight, I had the chance to stop by at Fuente with my daughter (and my camera). And because of the upcoming grand Sinulog Festival on January 18th, the place was lively and crowded with people watching the night program. Of course, most people were taking pictures everywhere so I didn’t hesitate to take out my cam as well. (Unlike the first time I tried to take pictures early in December, the place was pretty deserted so it felt awkward and risky.)
So this is my first time to really try playing with my camera settings. It’s almost a year since I had it for Zion’s First Birthday but I didn’t have much time to explore it. Basically, my kids are the only subject in majority of the pictures I take. But since part of my new year wish is to learn taking good pictures, then there’s only one thing I have to do: START USING IT AND PRACTICE AS LONG AS I CAN.
Alright, these are my first attempt to practice tonight. Also, I don’t normally bring out too much color in a picture, but I’m glad I experimented with something new this time. Hope you like it as much as I do, enjoy!
and Zooey was enjoying taking her shots too!
..good for her that she brought a new camera toy from her grandparent’s house.
..and her subject of focus is of course none other than Baby Jesus, Sr. Sto. Niño!
7 more DAYS to go before the Grand Sinulog Festival.. See you!
Viva Snr. Sto. Niño! Viva Pit Senyor!
