In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Secret Santa.”
You get to choose one gift — no price restrictions — for any person you want. The caveat? You have to give it anonymously. What gift would you give, and to whom?
If only I can afford it now, I would have given my parents their dream house this Christmas. Particularly, it’s my mother’s dream house. It’s not really as grand as most people would imagine. I’m not talking about a dream castle here. Rather, just a sweet humble home that is especially designed according to her liking.
Okay I admit, it’s a little fancy compared to our house of more than 30 years now.
That’s my mama right there, playfully taken by my daughter recently. So glad I didn’t delete it. Ha 🙂
So my mom’s dream house is pretty simple. I don’t think she dreams of having a huge celebrity-like mansion but she has always imagined having a beautiful home that has a lovely garden, a deluxe master’s bedroom with a big-screen TV & a large dresser, a prayer room, a music room, a mini-theater area, a study area or mini library, a playroom for her grandkids, a cozy living area, a spacious kitchen, a soothing comfort room, and a stylish dining area with a little bar. Just that.
Oh one more thing..
My mother is very particular about this one: Her dream house SHOULD also have at least 6 other “family-sized” bedrooms for all of her 6 kids (kids??!). Yes, that’s for me and my siblings. Can you imagine how big would that supposed simple house be? Hmmmmm.. 😀
So I think my mom’s dream house isn’t really about having a big house with all that luxury rooms, she’s more thoughtful about living in that one home where every family member could stay happily together for as long as we get old. Now that’s more of a dream home. I just wish I could help her build it soon, hopefully not more than 10 Christmases from now.
As for now, the only thing I can afford is happily pin ideas of dream houses. 😉

Merry Christmas everyone! Enjoy your holidays! 🙂
