Beauty in Monochrome

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Monochromatic.”
Two days ago, I was back again with my camera and had the chance to play a bit with monochrome settings. (Thank God I finally got a new SD card!)

I never intended to do monochromatic shots, but it just hit me like, “Hmm, why don’t I try other settings?” That’s when I remembered there’s monochrome.
Well, it was really a quick try. Didn’t capture anything good, but at least I was able to actually snap a few clicks just before my kids noticed I was enjoying a minute TO MYSELF. Damn it, kids! HAHA
Anyway, here are my noisy shots, a glimpse of our messy room… 😀

Zooey & Zion acting out some drama scenes (geeez TV influence)

Capdase Portable Bluetooth Speaker which I won here.

Honestly, I feel guilty of thinking that my kids are always driving me crazy, that our daily lives are just a routine of chasing, yelling, and asking them to stop fighting. In my head, I often picture a chaotic day.

But after I took these shots, I realized that those are not true at all. Or at least not this time. When I saw the photos, instead of seeing chaos, what I actually saw was just two lovely kids, with a sweet sibling bond, and doing a creative yet calm play.

Personally, I thought monochrome shots usually depict sadness and lonely times. But mine seems different. With these, I think I just captured the beauty of my family in Monochrome. 🙂

How about you? How do you see your family’s daily life? Have you captured anything beautiful in monochrome? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Sometimes things are better in black and white. I'm more into colors but there are photos that look better in monochrome. My family's daily life is a digital life! Ugghhh, my husband playing Kongregate while I tinker my phone until I fall asleep while my son is watching Cartoon Network. When my husband is done, I take over the PC then he takes over my phone. My son still with Cartoon Network. That's how bad as it seems. I try so hard & do my best to balance things like spend an hour or two with my son when I arrive from work even though when graveyard shift ko, kapoy kaayo sa tanan! Haha. Bawi2x lang pag weekends.

True, monochrome makes some shots better. The past days, I've been using black &b white filter on my Instagram photos and I love it! They look clean yet more dramatic. 🙂

I understand the "digital life", Rea. Even on my pics here, it's pretty clear that my kids are attached to my smartphone.
Adik kaayo og YouTube. Hahaha Bitaw, importante makabawi on weekends at least it makes weekends more special. ^_^
