Free Printable: Goals Calendar to Keep You Focused and Motivated

Before anything else, what’s a “Goals Calendar”?

Well, I just made that up. Haha But as the name suggests, it’s basically a calendar for your goals.

Goals calendar is a simple planner that will not just inspire you to work on your goals, but also help you keep track of your progress.

So what are your goals for this month?
Grow your blog, save money, pay debts, improve your weight, travel, write a book, land your dream job, increase your sales, start a business, build your home, strengthen your relationships, develop yourself, chase your passion, establish a new hobby, learn a new subject, etc..
Whatever it is, it’s clear that you want to pursue something, something better. Great! 🙂
But, how far have you come to achieving your goals? Are you doing well on your target? Or are you just putting things off?
I admit, I have gazillion things written mentally on my Goals Calendar. A list of “Things to Do Someday..”  Someday. Oh, such a sweet term for “never gonna happen”. Am I right?
I, for one, am pretty bad at working on my goals. I can’t seem to commit to the things I set for myself.
While I easily get excited and inspired on doing the things I love and those that interest me, I also get out of focused too quickly. When things, people, or circumstances get in the way, I get distracted. Sometimes, discouraged, even. And when I get discouraged, I have the tendency to put things off or just leave them hanging.
“Bahala na.”  “Come what may.”
We all know that distractions will always be there. It’s part of the game. It’s not always YES and ROSES because life doesn’t work that way. The universe does not always align for us. That’s why we face challenges and roadblocks along the way.
So does that mean we just let things happen?
Sadly for me, that’s how I deal with life, most of the time. Before.
I used to quickly tell myself that it’s not working. Then, I would immediately move on with other things.
But now that I understand how things work, I think I know better. I know what triggers me and how to keep myself focused and motivated.
If there’s anything that helped me with accomplishing anything, it’s through Writing and Visualizing. It’s what gets me moving. I’ve learned how to plan and work out on my goals. It pushes me forward and keeps me inspired to move up and take another step closer to my goals.

When I was still studying, writing about my situation helped me focus in school. I didn’t have an organized Goals Calendar yet at that time, but that’s how I succeeded on my studies.
Now, using my Goals Calendar is way better in helping me clear my mind off any distraction. It makes me think, decide, and take actions better.

How can I use this calendar for my goals?

I’m glad you finally asked. Haha
This special Goals Calendar has 5 areas – Quotes, Goal, Action Steps, Calendar, Remarks.

1.    1. Inspirational Quote

each month will have different quotes to inspire and motivate you to work on your goals. This is the part that will keep your fire burning and your mindset positive.

October: “I don’t focus on what I’m up against. I focus on my goals and I try to ignore the rest.” -Venus Williams

2. Monthly Goals

Write both your target and current stat for the month. I suggest that for each calendar, you focus only on one particular goal that you wish to accomplish for the month. If you want to work on our blog and save money and improve your health, then use a different sheet for each. Again, focus only on one for each calendar.

“Increase site traffic and improve my blog rank at 500; current stat 600.”
“Reach desired weight – 50kls; current stat at …”
“Travel more this 2015.”

3. Key Action Steps

Write the specific steps you need to do to get to your goal. Fill this out with “verbs” because these are actions.

“Increase site traffic. Write quality content regularly. Be more socially active. Join blogging groups syndication.”
“Eat more healthy food. Exercise, lift weights.”
“Save up. Research and plan for my travel. Check for promos.”

4. Calendar

Fill out your daily entries: stats, to dos, reminders, action steps, etc.

Oct. 15 – Alexa PH traffic rank at 600+, joined other blogging groups
Oct. 16 – finalize Life Quotes eBook
Oct. 17 – blog post about Goals Calendar
Oct 18 – announce blog giveaway

5. Remarks

Any special notes or important dates to remember. Also, write your general remarks on the whole progress at the end of the month – whether the goal is met or not.

“Important: Oct 25- giveaway ends.”
“Reminder: Oct 28- check weight”
“Oct 30- finalize flight booking”
End-of-month stat – traffic at 400. Goal achieved.

That’s it. Easy right? If you make it a habit to always clearly define your goal and action steps, then you are ahead of your game. 🙂

I hope you will not just download it, but will also really put it into good use. Good luck on your goals! 🙂

This is actually a really good idea Rose! Just this year I've started using a planner for all my blog and work related tasks. I've always been the note taker but I never really delved into the planner/calendar thing until recently. 🙂

This reminds me that I have planners but never get to use them. I prefer keeping a small notebook than planner. But this is a cool idea though.

I call this "pressure calendar" and this might be effective but pressure! 🙂 But discipline is something we all need to learn and this is one good way to do that! 🙂

I really need something like this because I tend to get distracted a lot. I do keep a planner but it's more of the daily tasks/reminders that I need to do which is different when you have short-term or long-term goals to achieve.

Takes really good discipline to keep a goals calendar. I'm not really into planners and most of the time day end up as a diary. 🙂
