My Growing Kids and Their Halloween Costumes Over the Years

Halloween 2018 is right around the corner and as always, the kids are so excited! They’ve been talking about what character they want to be for weeks now. But they always change it every single day – depending on what movie they see flashed on our computer screen. LOL

So, who are they really going to be like this Halloween?

Truth is, I don’t have any idea as we don’t have anything prepared yet. But based on experience, that should not be a problem. I mean, we always do last-minute Halloween costumes for years, anyway. Haha And we either do DIY Halloween Costume, use a hand-me-down, buy a cheap alternative, or just let the “make up” do the trick. 😉

Here’s a glimpse of our Halloween Trick or Treat Costumes in the past 8 years. Yes, starting in 2010 when Zooey was a newborn baby. 😉

(If you notice there’s a URL watermark on the first photos, these were recovered from my old blog.)

2010: Zooey the Ghost Newborn

She was 3 weeks old back then and was already strolling around the mall with the rest of the big kids.

2011: Zooey the Little Red Devil

This was a hand-me-down costume from my sister’s son. She was just starting to walk and doesn’t want to be held ever.

2012: Zooey the Kitten

This time I did a quick, easy DIY costume. She just paired an old black tight with her tutu skirt. Then, I filled an old stocking with some old foam to create the “Kitten Tail”. Plus, kitty makeup.

2013: Siblings in White

Zooey the White Lady (kinda) and Zion the regular baby in white (lol). For ever spooky Halloween, makeup is our best friend. 🙂

2014: The Princess and the Pirate

Zooey as Princess Belle from Beauty and the Beast and Zion as a pirate. Both were hand-me-down costumes from my sisters. Having a big family is really a blessing especially in cases like this. Haha

2015: The Super Brave Duo

Zooey as Princess Merida from the movie Brave and Zion as Superman in an oversized suit. Haha The Superman was a hand-me-down, while I had Zooey’s dress tailored by a blogger friend’s mom. It’s become her all-time favorite!

2016: Apocalypse

For some reasons, I can’t find any photos for this year. But I got a video of Zion as Zombie chasing his cousin as Captain America. Obviously, he’s just wearing a torn white shirt with some makeup on it. 😉

And finally from last year,

2017: The Creepy Siblings!

This is hands down my favorite!!! The makeup, their expression, everything about this is just so good for me! My favorite part is when every other kid they met got really scared of them. Haha

(But truth is, they got scared of themselves as well whenever they see this photo. Hahaha)

So Zion’s polo was a hand-me-down, while Zooey reused the white gown from 2013. Scroll back up to see how big she’s grown! 🙂

My kids are growing!!!

Looking at all these old Halloween photos made me realize how time flies and how big the kids have grown. We initially planned on reusing some old outfit, but I don’t think that’s ever gonna happen.

The kids tried putting on old Halloween Costumes and this is how Zooey looked like with her Princess Belle dress.

It’s funny how small it looked on her. Have you seen a princess with a knee-length dress? HAHA. I can’t believe how they grow out of their Halloween Costumes that fast!

It’s an amazing experience to see my kids develop over the years and I am thankful that I chose Nido as their constant milk companion in keeping them healthy, strong, and protected. Nido 3+ has vitamins A, B and other nutrients that help support their overall growth and development. Giving my kids Nido everyday is one of the ways I show them my #LoveThatProtects.

Now since they can’t fit in their old costumes anymore, it’s time we start looking for new Halloween Costume Ideas for this year.

I admire your consistency and also your persistence in making/providing Halloween costumes for your children. My daughter was only able to join the “trick or treat” activities twice. Once was her first time, when we’re in the US. Her costume was Queen Elsa of Frozen. The second and the last, was after we came back from the US, her costume then was The Little Mermaid’s. She had fun because she loved the characters and the costumes. 🙂

My son started out as a pumpkin in 2010. The following year, I dressed him up as a dinosaur, entered him in SM’s costume competition, and bagged second place! His last costume was Darth Vader in 2015. After nun ayaw na nya mag-costume, haha.

Halloween is so much fun! I loved Halloween as a kid even though I didn’t get to have a variety of costumes. It’s fun finding costumes for kids isn’t it. One year my daughter wanted to be the zombie girl from Walking Dead and we did it DIY style. Of course, she’s all grown up so no more costumes. So enjoy these moments!

We don’t celebrate halloween nor join trick or treats, so my kids don’t have official halloween costumes. But we do have costumes that they get to wear around the house, or sometimes, to themed parties and sometimes to the grocery, hehe.

My favorite would have to be the Thomas the Train one that my eldest wore for a themed birthday party. 🙂

I like this idea of collating my son’s costume. He was a bear, crayon, and now mike from monsters inc.

I don’t usually buy costumes but I borrow my nephew’s costume para tipid hehe
