From today’s DP: Leftovers Sandwich
Today, publish a post based on unused material from a previous piece –a paragraph you nixed, a link you didn’t include, a photo you decided not to use. Let your leftovers shine!
As I was browsing my camera’s folder gallery this morning for a blog post I’m trying to come up about my little man’s little fascinations, I was overwhelmed by his hundreds of photos. I can’t figure out which ones to select because I just find him adorably cute in almost all pictures – either playing or sleeping or crying or even not doing anything at all. If only I can post his every photo, I would. But of course, that would be annoying, right? Haha
So anyway, that picture above is one of the many others I decided not to include since I already selected a similar one. Actually, I haven’t made the post yet since I’m still gathering some other pictures but I already consider this one as part of the leftovers.
This photo was taken today in the living room. It’s one of the common everyday scenes you can see in our house. Just like other kids, my little man is also quite a fan of mommy’s smartphone. Well, not really my smartphone thing he is after, but the short video clips I downloaded for them. Yes, my phone is filled with things for my kids – from kids apps to kids songs to kids movies. It’s basically their gadget. LOL
So to be specific, I only have 4 videos left saved (others were deleted since my memory has gotten full of them) : three videos from the Frozen movie – the song parts of “Let It Go”, “Do You Wanna Build a Snowman”, & “For the First Time In Forever”; and one is Zion’s first year video which is our favorite of all (of course!). 🙂
In this particular photo shot, Zion is watching his own first year video. There is no single day that my kids will not watch this video. I created it early this year as he just turned one last March. This was the very first “first year” video I ever made since I didn’t make anything like this for Zooey back then. It was kinda sad that I never thought about this before when Zooey was little. I guess I was too busy taking care of my first newborn. Or probably had a dead brain after delivery. Postpartum, anyone? Hahaha
Okay, moving on.
Now, let me share Zion’s first year video I was talking about. If it wasn’t so clear when I said that there is no single day that my kids will not watch this video, then let me emphasize again.. my kids watch this video every day! They simply can’t get enough of it. And I admit, me too. So here’s why.. please watch below.
Oh, just a short favor, please watch it ’til the end. Though the video quality isn’t so good, if you’re a Taylor Swift fan or you love some punk music, then you’d at least enjoy the songs. 😉
How was it, guys?
Honestly, this wasn’t my own original idea. This was an inspiration I had from one of my favorite mommy blogs, Mommy Shorts, when she created for her daughter Harlow’s first year video. Truly heart-melting, isn’t it?
Alrighty, that’s all for now. I hope you’re inspired by my little man. Thank you for taking the time to read (and for watching too). Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving to you all! 🙂
